Those that have experience trauma often struggle from issues, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that are caused by the inability to process these stressful experiences. At Skycloud Mental Health, we are able to perform both psychiatric and psychological services to help you work through trauma and receive the tools you need to move forward.

We at Skycloud Mental Health are a primarily telepsychiatry practice with a physical location in Beaverton, OR. We are able to support patients anywhere in Minnesota, Utah, Washington State, or Oregon no matter where you are located, using video chat.

About Our PTSD and Trauma Recovery Services

Skycloud Mental Health offers several services for those that struggle with PTSD or trauma recovery.

We are able to offer services that include:

      • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy)
      • PTSD Psychiatric Evaluation
      • Psychotherapy
      • Medication Management
      • Pharmacogenomic Analysis

Like therapists, we are able to talk to you, get to know you, and determine ways to help you address your trauma. Like psychiatrists, we can help you with your medications and support your ongoing management and compliance, while ensuring that you are benefitting from them.

As a telepsychiatry practice, you are able to see our team from the comfort of your own home, or anywhere else where you feel safe. We can also continue to work with you and make sure that you’re seeing results and on your way to a better quality of life.

What is PTSD?

Post-traumatic stress disorder is a stress/anxiety related condition. After a trauma, a person’s body struggles to cope with stresses they face in the future. They may be:

      • Quick to feeling extreme levels of anxiety.
      • Reach with fear to triggering events, like loud noises.
      • Avoid potentially enjoyable situations for fear of triggering the PTSD.
      • Feeling like you are reliving the event, with or without flashbacks.
      • Dreams or nightmares about the traumatic event.
      • Substance use to try to forget the event.

In severe cases, a person can enter a state where they are transported back to the event and react to the current world as though it is the day it occurred.

Many people with PTSD also struggle with anxiety and depression.
