Telepsychiatry for LGBTQ+

Skycloud Mental Health is a telepsychiatry practice that provides psychiatric and psychotherapy services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer adults. We believe in creating a safe space for you to express yourself, live your identity, and receive the personalized care and support that you deserve for any mental health issues you struggle with, whether they relate to your identity or not.

We are licensed to provide services throughout the entirety of Washington State, Oregon, Utah, and Minnesota, and we do that by using telepsychiatry – psychiatric care through a secure video chat service – to make sure that no matter who you are or where you are, you can receive treatment from the comfort of your own home.

If you are in need of mental health support, use our online form to request an appointment or contact us at 503-694-3381 for further information.

About Skycloud Mental Health

Skycloud Mental Health is a team of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs).

We have chosen to use telepsychiatry to provide support for our patients for many reasons, but one of the most important is directly related to the work we do with the LGBTQ+ community.

We know that some of our patients have not yet come out to friends and family, while others live in communities that are not as accepting of peoples unique identities. We also know that our patients are more likely to continue their care when they can receive it in the comfort of their own home – without requiring a commute. This allows us to treat patients in big cities like Seattle and Portland to smaller towns peppered throughout our four licensed states (WA, OR, UT, and MN).

We offer a range of mental health services for the LGBTQ+ community, including:

  • Support for LGBTQ+ Specific Issues – We can support you with challenges such as coming out to friends and family, addressing experiences with harassment and bullying, gender affirming care, and self-acceptance.
  • Mental Health and Psychiatric Treatments- We provide psychiatric treatments for anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions that often affect the LGBTQ community. We create a safe and accepting space to receive help.
  • Medication Management – As psychiatric nurse practitioners, we can help you with medication management for your mental health or transition.
  • Transgender Psychiatric Evaluations – If you need an evaluation to make sure you’re ready for gender affirming procedures, we are qualified to perform the evaluations.

Skyclouds founder, Madeline Jacobs PMHNP, worked at one of the largest LGBT center in the United States, assisting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals with issues related to their identity and mental health.
