ComPsych is one of the nation’s largest providers of Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), helping employees and their families access behavioral healthcare. Depending on your employer’s benefits, ComPsych may help cover short-term counseling, referrals, and behavioral health services. If additional treatment is needed, your health insurance benefits may help cover ongoing therapy, psychiatry, medication management, or medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

Understanding Your ComPsych Benefits

Many people receive access to ComPsych through their employer. Unlike traditional health insurance, ComPsych often serves as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), providing confidential support, mental health resources, and referrals to qualified providers.

What is a Deductible?

Some health insurance plans require you to meet an annual deductible before insurance begins paying for certain behavioral health services.

If your ComPsych EAP sessions have ended and you continue treatment through your medical insurance, your deductible may affect your out-of-pocket costs.

For example, if your deductible is $2,000 and you’ve already paid $1,500 toward other medical expenses during the year, you may only need to pay the remaining $500 before your insurance starts covering eligible services.
